Will Nottingham Forest hold their nerve?

While the performances are there, the results aren't coming. Nottingham Forest have a proven manager in Oliver Glasner but the problems from before his time remain — how will the Reds progress?

Ange Postecoglou lasted 39 days at Nottingham Forest without a win. Sean Dyche managed 114 days, with the team managing 241 shots in that time — the overall conversion rate just 8.3%, the third worst in the division.

The national press think they know how this goes — Evangelos Marinakis is not a patient man and the pressure is on Oliver Glasner.

And yet, for many, it's not that straightforward. Postecoglou's Spurs side were hopeless in the Premier League, and his Forest team no better. Dyche started well but even those who welcomed his arrival soon saw the writing on the wall — lumping 52 crosses against Everton in a 2-0 loss, 35 shots on goal in a 0-0 draw with Wolves...

Performances under Glasner are undoubtedly better. But the same problems remain. And the solution is not obvious. Aside from Nuno Espirito Santo's seventh-place finish in 2025, this is a club that has battled relegation in three seasons out of the past four.

Addressing that mentality, changing that outcome and fulfilling our potential is not addressed in a few months. And while the Premier League table looks grim at the moment, it's still early days and still very tight — finishing off Crystal Palace and Ipswich Town, as we should've done, would see us currently sat in joint sixth.

But let's be very clear — everybody knows that this can't continue. Impressive performances alongside disappointing results and a lack of goals is not sustainable.

Marinakis and Glasner don't need to be told this. But change isn't easy and doesn't happen overnight. Maybe this is a run of bad luck and we forget this ever happened. Maybe something else has to happen...

Nottingham Forest and the numbers game

A third defeat in a row, still no goals at home and a drop into the bottom three. While nobody wants to be in this position, Oliver Glasner’s Nottingham Forest are doing the right things — so surely the results will follow?

What happened at Selhurst Park?

Nottingham Forest’s 3-1 defeat to Crystal Palace was, in no uncertain terms, a s*** show. But despite the unceremonious collapse and profligacy in front of goal, was there something to be hopeful about?
